You may use any ONE of the following. Note that the ID you present must be valid, unexpired and photo-bearing

  • Company IDs issued by private entities or institutions registered with, supervised or regulated by the BSP, SEC or IC.

What qualifications are needed to get a SMART Money card?

To be eligible for a SMART Money card:

 

  • You must be a SMART subscriber (Prepaid, Postpaid, or Talk N text)
  • You must be a resident of the Philippines
  • Your citizenship may be Filipino or non-Filipino
  • If 7 to 11 years old, you must have your parent's or guardian's consent

Does SMART Money charge an annual fee?

There is no annual fee charged for use of the SMART Money card. All you need to pay for is a one-time processing fee for the SMART Money card.

What is the maximum number of SMART Money cards that may be linked to one mobile phone number?

A maximum of two SMART Money cards may be linked to one mobile phone number.

Is my SMART Money account secure?

Transferring funds and making payments using SMART Money is safe and secure. All transactions are PIN-protected, and funds are safekept in BDO

The maximum withdrawable amount per day is Php 20,000.

What should I do if my SMART Money card is lost or stolen?

If you lose your SMART Money Card, you can immediately prevent unauthorized access by locking your account using your SMART Cellphone.

Using your SMART mobile phone, go to the SMART Money Menu>Card Mgmnt>Card Lock and press OK.

You may also choose to call the Customer Care hotline for FREE at 15177 (SMART Cellphone), 845 7777 (Landline) to report and have your lost Card blocked and replaced.

What should I do if I forget my PIN number?

Call the Customer Care hotline and request that your ATM or W-PIN be reset.

I cannot find the 'Internet Txns' option on my SMART menu/Smart Money menu. How do I proceed with the Lock/Unlock option?

In order to access the 'Internet Txns' option on your Smart Money menu, you will first need to link your SMART Money card to your mobile phone. If you still cannot find 'Internet Txns' on your Smart menu, text INTERNET to 343 for FREE

What is the difference between online purchases using a SMART Money card vs. using a credit card or other debit cards?

When making an online purchase with SMART Money, you are assured that your account is protected because:

  • SMART Money has a security feature that allows you to lock and unlock your account specifically for Internet transactions.
  • You will receive an SMS notification every time a transaction is carried out using your account. Most or all of the above features are not available with other debit or credit cards.

How can I make sure that it is safe to purchase/transact online?

We cannot ensure that any given buyer or seller will complete your transaction. For your protection, we encourage you to deal or transact only with reputable online merchants.

Your SMART Money account is locked for Internet transactions by default. As your W-PIN is required to lock/unlock your SMART Money account for online transactions, you are the only person who is authorized to purchase online using your SMART Money card. By unlocking your account, you authorize the online transaction.

Who is liable in instances when goods I have purchased online are not delivered?

SMART Money is a payment channel that permits you to make online purchases. SMART Money may not be held liable for any defect or non-delivery of items purchased via the Internet.

How do I know that I have carried out a successful purchase transaction?

You will receive an SMS notification informing you of your successful transaction. This notification will also inform you of the amount spent, merchant name and your new SMART Money account balance.

What is my daily purchase limit?

SMART Money Card Holders have a daily purchase limit of Php 50,000. However, if you have a SMART Money virtual account (no SMART Money Card), then the daily purchase limit is Php 1,000.

How do I link my SMART Money account to my SMART/TNT mobile number?

A: Please follow the steps below to successfully link your SMART Money account to your SMART mobile number

-          Text MONEY (space) Card 16-digit number

-          Send to 343

-          You will receive a flash message, press OK

-          Enter your desired W-PIN (6-digits) press OK.

-          Re-enter your W-PIN, press OK

-          Type card name

-          You’ll receive a notification confirming receipt of your request, press OK

-          You’ll receive a notification of your successful transaction

Can I receive funds from abroad/remittance?

Yes.  You may receive remittance using your Smart Money Card No. and or Mobile No. via Smart Money’s accredited remittance partners.

If my remitter sends money using my Smart mobile number, how can I get my remittance?

If you don’t have a SMART Money account yet, you (beneficiary) will receive a SMS since this has been identified by the remitter, but call to action is to claim funds at any SMART Store.  SMS is required to claim the remittance.  Bring your cellphone, the SMS sent and 1 valid photo ID. Call FREE 15177 mobile or 845-7777 landline for help.

If my remitter sends money using mobile number but my Smart Money account is not linked, will I receive my remittance?

You (beneficiary) will receive a SMS since this has been identified by the remitter, but call to action is to claim funds at any SMART Store.  SMS is required to claim the remittance.  Bring your

cellphone, the SMS sent and 1 valid photo ID. Call FREE 15177 mobile or 845-7777 landline for help.

If my remitter sends money using my Smart Money number, how can I get my remittance?

You will receive a SMS informing you that funds is ready in your account.  You may withdraw via the ATM or get cash via Smart Money Centers.

If remittance is sent to my account, what type of Smart Money card should I get?

If remittance is already sent, you should get a Smart Money instant card at P100 so that funds can automatically be credited to that account.
